JetBlue Airways today announced it will extend through the July 4 holiday its commitment to seat distancing by blocking middle seats in rows where parties are not traveling together. The policy, part of the airline’s multi-layered “Safety from the Ground Up” program, comes as the airline is also set to roll out temperature monitoring for […]
Yangon is a city of contradictions. It’s the largest city in Myanmar, though it’s no longer the capital. That was changed to the planned city of Naypyidaw in 2006. It’s an important commercial center in Southeast Asia, but there are no skyscrapers. Downtown Yangon is still full of colonial-era buildings, while new construction maxes out at 10 stories. It’s also home to more than seven million people, yet it still lacks basic infrastructure. The government isn’t putting money into modernization. Despite these inconsistencies, Yangon is still fascinating.

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain
In January, Jessica Fricchione and 10 of her family members booked what would have been her first cruise, a Bermuda sailing out of Baltimore leaving on May 31.
Due to the coronavirus crisis, the group’s sailing was cancelled — and they have no interest in taking a future cruise credit.
“No one in the family wants to book a cruise again,” she said, adding that they were looking into a stay at an all-inclusive resort instead. “I don’t ever, ever want to be stuck on a cruise ship.”
Justified or not, the cruise industry’s reputation took a hit from the high-profile Covid-19 outbreaks on a handful of ships in March and April.

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.” -J.R.R. Tolkien
The Midwest refuses to be ignored anymore. For too long, the north-central section of the country was driven through and flown over. No one was making unnecessary stops, much less planning entire trips to the region. My how things have changed. Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota are turning into destinations. Big destinations. Here are five places you need to visit.
This may be hard to hear, but someone has to tell you. You’ve been approaching the Seychelles all wrong. When you’ve considered a trip to the jawdropping archipelago in the Indian Ocean, you always looked at the two largest islands. Mahé and Praslin always felt overdeveloped and prohibitively expensive, though. So you’d get discouraged and look elsewhere. It’s completely understandable. Yet it’s time to reevaluate this African trip.
Let’s start by looking at La Digue.
